She was born on December 26, 1933 in Owen County, Indiana the daughter of Jett Calvin and Stella Ann (Rawley) Clawson. Iris was a 1951 graduate of Freedom High School. She was an assembly line worker for over 42 years at RCA in Bloomington before retiring.
In addition to collecting owls, she enjoyed working puzzles, playing bingo, gardening, and knitting. She was an avid NBA basketball fan, loved the Pacers, and was happy to share her knowledge and opinion of the game. She was most proud when a local journalist wrote and published a story about her love of basketball. She was a lovely lady, never met a stranger, and will be greatly missed.
Iris is survived by her sister, Lois (Floyd) Byrum of Spencer, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, Jerald Clawson; Truman Clawson; Delmar Clawson and Ransom Clawson.
