Elizabeth Ann Downie Post, 52, went home to be with the Lord on September 28, 2007. She was born on January 19, 1955 in Syracuse, NY. She was a daughter of the late John W. Downie and Helen M. Downie. She was also preceded in death by her sister Mary L. Short. Beth is survived by her husband Bob, stepson Cody, stepdaughter Jessie, and daughters Katie, Gina, and Gracie. She is also survived by her siblings Fred Downie, Jim Downie, Tom Downie, Dave Downie, and Debi Ponder and countless other devoted friends and extended family. Beth was passionate about Christ, life, and her family and friends. Her life was about reaching out and helping others. She enjoyed sailing, parties, dancing, the beach (and her Beach Babes) , Church, and her dogs. She was an entrepreneur and owned a successful interior design firm and was an Independent Consultant for Cabi clothing line. Beth was a positive person who lived by the verse, "In all things give thanks, for this is the will of God" (1Thes. 5:16) She faced her battle with cancer with grace, hope, and laughter. Viewing will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, October 01, 2007, until the Celebration of Her Life service at 11:00 a.m. at the Williamsburg Community Chapel. A reception will follow.
