Mrs. Jewel Delane Wagner was born January 26, 1919 in Crockett to the parentage of Jim and Mary Delane. Mrs. Delane attended Salt Branch school in the Halls Bluff Community and was a Deaconess, Choir president and mother of the church.
On January 19, 1935, she united in Holy Matrimony with Walter "Sam" Wagner. To this union, six children were born.
On Saturday, June 30, 2007, the angel of death visited Mrs. Jewel Delane Wagner as she was surrounded by her loving family.
Survivors are her two daughters Georgia Murphy, of Crockett and Crezette Evans (Rev. Oliver), of Fort Worth; two sons Jimmy Wagner and Sammy Wagner, of Crockett; one granddaughter whom she raised Cynthia Howard (Rev. Terrence), of Fort Worth; seven other grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; one brother Clyde Delane, of Crockett; son-in-law Clarence Jolley, of Crockett; one god-daughter Dorothy Johnson, of Crockett; special provider Pearlie Holman; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by her parents Jim and Mary Delane; husband Walter "Sam" Wagner; one daughter; one son' one grandson; one granddaughter; one great-great-grandchild; four sisters; and four brothers.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Jewel Delane Wagner were held Saturday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Crockett with Rev. Earl Harris, Rev. Elliott Marshall and Rev. precious Gipson officiating. Interment followed in Campbell Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers were Wayne Dairs, Clarence Jolley, Sammy Wagner, Jr., Rev. Terrence Howard, Rev. Oliver Evans and Kenneth Jolley.
Honorary Pallbearers were Jimmy Wagner, Cory Murphy, Julian Howard, Rodney Jolley, Sammy Wagner, Sr., Arthur Murphy, Jr., Aaron Davis, Jr. and Clyde Delane.
