Mr Floyd William Graefe, 78, died Wednesday, May 29, 1996, at Rio Grande Regional Hospital in McAllen. Mr. Graefe was born in Fort Collins, Larimer County, and had lived in the Valley since 1991. He was a U.S. Postmaster in Jackson, Wyo., and had been an Assistant Cashier for Jackson State Bank. He was a member of American Legion Post 0043 of Jackson, Wyo., a life member of D. A. V. Guthrie Beck Chapter, a member of the National Association of U. S. Postmasters, a Master Mason, a member of the Elks Club, Rotary Club and the V. F. W. of Jackson, Wyo., Due to combat in the Philippines in W.W. II, he was awarded the Purple Heart Medal. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Graefe of Pharr, Tex.; two sons, Floyd William "Spike" Graefe of Payette, Idaho and Vincent "Bin" Graefe of Longton, Kan.; one sister, Edna Marie Madison of Ft. Collins, Colo.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Pattie Sue Gardner in 1991 and five brothers and sisters. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 3, 1996, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pharr.
