Walter Lee Scott, age 67, of Warren, formerly of Mecca Twp., died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.

He was born on October 7, 1944 in Warren, a son of the late Merle E. Scott and the late Anna K. Geho Scott.

Walter retired from the Lordstown GM plant where he had worked as a Union Steward and Lineman for over 30 years. After his retirement, he enjoyed spending his time working in his family's business at Brothers Pizza & Restaurant in Cortland. Walter enjoyed working and was a member of the UAW. He also enjoyed fishing, NASCAR and the Cleveland Browns. He was a great cook and loved to grill as well as sample various wines.

He will be sadly missed by his lifelong companion, Janet Esenwein of North Carolina , his three daughters, Melinda Scott(Steven Hartwich) of Phoenix, AZ, DeAnna (Angelo)Pizzurro of Cortland and Danielle (Jeff) Tarr of North Carolina and by his sister, Virginia (Jerry) Lyman of Cortland. Also surviving are his three grandchildren, Francesca Pizzurro, Kendall Tarr and Bennett Tarr.

Walter was preceded in death by his Parents and two brothers, Rev. Stanley Scott and Kenneth Scott.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 from 4PM 6PM at the Lane Family Funeral Homes, Shafer-Winans Chapel in Cortland. Services will be held Tuesday evening at 6PM at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association, 1815 W. Market St., Suite 108, Akron, OH 44313.
