Obituary-source unknown: Chot Miller grew up and was educated in the Belgrade area where he farmed and operated a blacksmith shop. He moved north of Hardin, Montana in 1913. The farm was east of the Big Horn River. The family farmed there until the 1930s and then they moved into Hardin. He accepted a position as a watchman for the Holly Sugar Corporation in 1936. He retired in 1953. Charles died August 3, 1968 in Warmsprings, Montana, at age 89. He was buried in Hardin, Montana. Funeral services for Charles Miller, 89, will be at 2 p.m. at Bullis Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Hardin Fairview Cemetery. Mr. Miller died Saturday at Warmsprings after a long illness. He was born June 20, 1879 at Belgrade, MT, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Miller. He was reared in the Belgrade area and operated a blacksmith shop there until he moved to the Hardin area in 1913. He married Jessi Porter Ebling at Hardin on June 16, 1922. They farmed near Hardin until 1930. He is survived by his widow, a son, Bert of Hardin, two stepsons, Art Ebling, Hardin and Robert Ebling, Birney; a daughter, Mrs. Emmett Burgess, Boise; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Clarence Bowers, Hardin, Mrs. Melvin Denny, Hardin; 16 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
