Charles 'Chuck' Reichert of Waitsburg, Washington passed away on October 22, 2015 at his home at the age of 89 years. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Munselle-Rhodes Funeral Home, 902 S. Main, Milton-Freewater is in charge of the arrangements.
Charles Calvert Reichert was born on April 28, 1926 the son of Fred and Louella (Nighswonger) Reichert in St. Francis, Kansas. Charles was the youngest of eight children. In his younger years Charles worked for area famers and canneries. Charles later enlisted in the US Army serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. In 1947 he married Nancy L. Johnson and the couple had 4 children. The marriage later ended in divorce and in 1979 Charles married Jeanette Gales. He worked at Hanford for many years and later retired from the Corps of Engineers. In Charles retirement years he and his wife Jeanette began a rental business. The couple enjoyed traveling together and truly enjoy the Dixie Church and the people there.
Survivors include his wife Jeanette of Waitsburg; children, Charles R. Reichert, Duane M. Reichert and Dana M. Reichert; step-children, Gerald Gales, Roxane Gales Overman and Pamela Gales Alexenko; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren, 9 step-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
His parents, son Ronald Reichert; step-son Gary Gales; step-grandson Brian Gales; siblings, Roberta Trumbull, Mattie Sherlock, Rhea McRae Townsend, Mary Rand, Phyllis Rainey, Lorence Reichert and Dennis Reichert all preceded him in death.
