Gib was born in New Cumberland, W.Va., August 1, 1938 son of the late George and Gertrude Bailey. He was also preceded in death by a great-grandson Skyler, brother Ken and sisters Marge and Lillian.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie Bailey. His children Tim (Natalie) Bailey, Penny (Rodney) Briggs and Johnny (Patty) Bailey; grandchildren, Nicole (Gary) Eddy, Markie (Shannon) Hanselman, Shannon (Darek Fiut) Bailey, Shane Bailey, Brandy (Dirk Baker) Hanselman, Johnny & Joseph Bailey and Kyle & Regan Butera; and 10 great-grandchildren; sisters Thelma Reed Christen, Esther L. Sutton and Linda K. Yost.
Gib was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He served in the US Army for 4 years and he worked hard for his family at Weirton Steel for many years. He was an active golfer and enjoyed watching his grandchildren grow and play sports.
He had a big heart and would do anything to help anyone. He will be truly missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing him.
Friends will be received at Turley Funeral Home New Cumberland, W.Va. from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. until time of services at 12 p.m. Saturday.
Services will be at Turley Funeral Home on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Sharmune Burgess of Trinity United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be at New Cumberland Cemetery.
