He served in the US Marine Corp as a Gunnery Sergeant and was a small arms specialist. He worked as a Tyngsborough Police Officer for over 20 years and was the Canine Officer for 8 years. Before joining the Tyngsboro Police Department he worked for the Dunstable Police Department.
He was an active member of the community, volunteering and coaching youth soccer for the Groton-Dunstable teams. He was a member of the Tyngsboro Sportsmen's Club and ran the Irish Dinner Night. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He held membership in the International Union Police Association #8 where he was the past president and was currently the union steward. He also held membership in the New England Police Benevolent Association and past President of the International Brotherhood of Police Officers.
