Deacon Manson was born on January 27, 1933. He attended Cecilian Academy, Saint Madeleine Sophie and Holy Cross Parochial Schools and Northeast Catholic High School. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from LaSalle University. He also attended Temple University for graduate studies. Deacon Manson was a retired C.P.A. from the Office of Financial Affairs with the Archdiocese of Philadelphia.
Deacon Manson was ordained a Permanent Deacon, Archdiocese of Philadelphia, Roman Catholic Church, on June 4, 1989, at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Philadelphia, by His Eminence Anthony Cardinal Bevilacqua, and was assigned to Saint Genevieve Parish.
A Funeral Mass was celebrated by Most Reverend Daniel E. Thomas at Saint Genevieve Church, 1225 Bethlehem Pike, Flourtown, PA 19031, on Friday, December 7, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Concelebrating the Funeral Mass were Reverend Monsignor Michael Matz, Reverend Monsignor Robert Carroll, Reverend Carl Janicki and Reverend William Recchuti, O.S.A. The homilist was Deacon Michael Conroy. Private interment was in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to above named church.

Deacon Manson is survived by his wife, Margaret "Peg" (nee Connolly); his four daughters, Joanna (Wai) Eng, Regina (Louis) Bosca, Sarah Manson, and Jennifer Manson; four grandchildren, Bridget, Liam, Isabelle, and John; siblings, William J Jr., Regina Kemp, Natalie Susanin, and the late Mary Rose Logan and Edward B; and many nieces and nephews.
