On the 24 December 1934, Edith married Alex Balla Jr. (1908-1977), the son of Alexander Balla (1886-1950) and Julia Molnar (1885-1962), in Jasper Co., Texas. Edith and Alex had four children between 1936 and 1954: Shirley, Alex Derriel, Terry, and Edith.
Edith and her family lived in Kountze, Hardin Co., Texas. On the 3 June 1977, Alex, her husband of forty-tree years, passed away; and was buried in Old Hardin Cemetery. Her obituary appeared in the Beaumont Enterprise on the 29 November 2004.
