Elijah Hubbard (1745-1808) was a lawyer and merchant of Middletown and New
London, Connecticut.
A Patriot of the American Revolution for CONNECTICUT with the rank of
COMMISSARY.
A successful West India merchant both before and after the Revolutionary war,
and during the war was commissary and superintendent of stores for the army. He
was for twenty-eight years member of the General Assembly, and for a number of
years was president of the Middletown Bank.
