Evelyn Gaunt Abell, of Avenal, entered into eternal rest in Coalinga following a brief illness.

She was a homemaker. Evelyn was a loving sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Evelyn was born in Watsonville to William and Mamie Gaunt.

She served in the Ground Observer Corps of the Air Defense Command. Evelyn was a Girl Scout Leader, Council for Job's Daughters, served in the committee for American Field Service and was a member of the Kings County Grand Jury.

She also enjoyed her church family at the Church of Christ in Avenal and Coalinga.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Leroy Abell and by her son Kenneth LeRoy Abell.

Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Cheryl L. Tuttle of Avenal and Luann A. Crawford of Lancaster; two brothers, William Gaunt of Sacramento and John Gaunt of Lemoore; one sister, Barbara Bellamy of Avenal; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be private.

Remembrances may be made to the donor's favorite charity.

Arrangements are under the direction of People's Funeral Chapel in Hanford.
