Lynn James McFarland / Allgier, 80, passed away suddenly due to COVID-19 on March 18, 2021.

Lynn was born to Gladys Ellingsworth and James McFarland on November 12, 1940 in Mount Pleasant.

Lynn served proudly in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1964. He attended the University of Utah and worked as a Mechanical Engineer until he retired in 2009.

He was a devoted Utes Football fan and a member of the Crimson Club. He loved deer hunting, cooking, researching genealogy and playing golf. His presence will be long remembered.

He is survived by his wife, Verna Joyce; daughter, JoyLynn Saethre; grandchildren, Jordan L. (Cory) Saethre, Jeremy D. (Emily) Saethre, and Charlotte J. Saethre; brother, Richard R. Allgier; sisters, Kathleen Leiter and Carol Hughes; and half-brothers, Dale and Billy Allgier.

Graveside service will take place on Friday, April 30, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. in the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 7th Avenue (350 North) and "N" Street (850 East). Plot WEST_7_67_1E located along Main Street.
An informal gathering for those who wish to visit will take place after at Lindsey Gardens, 426 North "M" Street (800 East).
