Dale W. Dirker, 81, of Reese, died Monday evening, April 19, 2021 at Ascension St. Mary's Hospital in Saginaw. He was born February 3, 1940 in Saginaw, son of the late Walter P. and Helena M. (Schwan) Dirker. He graduated from Arthur Hill Trade School in 1957. His first job was at Saginaw General Hospital in the Stock Room. He then became employed at Saginaw Machine and Tool, in their apprenticeship program, graduating in 1960. On September 12, 1964 he married the former Joyce Krueger in Saginaw. She survives him. After their marriage the couple made their home in Reese. Dale then became employed at Saginaw Steering Gear, in the Tool Room, of Plants 3 & 7. After thirty-three years of service, he retired July 1, 1999. He served his community for thirty years with the Reese-Blumfield Fire Department and held the office of Chief of the Blumfield Township Fire Department. Dale also served on the Saginaw County Fire Association, where he held the office of Secretary-Treasurer, and served on the Saginaw County Fire Prevention Board. He was a faithful member of Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. He enjoyed taking his family camping around Michigan. After his son's grew older, Dale and Joyce made their summer home for twenty-one years, in their trailer, in Detour Village at Linger Longer Resort on Caribou Lake.

Surviving besides his wife Joyce is his son, Matt Dirker and his wife Theresa of Reese; daughter-in-law, Lori Dirker of Reese; two grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla) Dirker and Tyler (Jessica) Dirker and one great-granddaughter, Ella Dirker. Also surviving is his sister, Verna Zemenak, brothers-in-law, Harold Krueger, and Carl Krueger and wife Joy, sisters-in-law, Marie Particka, and Dorothy Armstrong and husband James Sr. many nieces, nephews, and special friends Jack and Sherry Pitko. In addition to his parents, Dale was predeceased by his son, Paul Carl Dirker, August 30, 2018, his sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis and Andrew Anderson, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Carl and Dorothy Krueger, and sisters-in-law, Barbarann Buchanan and Florine Krueger.

Funeral Services will take place at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 from Christ Lutheran Church in Reese. Reverend Mark Gerisch will officiate. Committal Services and Last Call, Fire Department Honors, to be presented by Reese Fire Rescue, will take place in the Eastlawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw after the church service. Dale's Family will receive friends at the Ware-Smith-Woolever Funeral Home, 9940 Saginaw Street in Reese on Wednesday from 3-7 p.m. and at the church on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.

Reese Fire Rescue will do Walk-Thru Honors at the funeral home at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday evening.

Dale's Funeral Service will be live streamed at 11:30 a.m. Thursday on YouTube at Christ Lutheran Church Reese MI.
