Charles Franklin "Chuck" Matthews, 62, of Ocoee, FL, passed away on Wednesday, April 21, 2021.
Chuck was born on April 9, 1959, in Orlando, FL, to the late Charles Benjamin and Juanita Joan (Strycker) Matthews. He graduated from Oak Ridge High School and attended the University of Central Florida before enlisting in the United States Air Force in March 1979. During his time in the Air Force, he furthered his formal education by graduating from the Community College of the Air Force (receiving an Associate of Applied Sciences degree in Industrial Security) and Baker College of Flint (receiving a Bachelor degree in Business Administration and Human Resources).
For 24 years, Chuck served in the Air Force in the Security Forces and as a First Sergeant functioning in a Human Resources Director position. Eleven of the 24 years were spent overseas. Chuck was a Senior Master Sergeant (E-8) at the time of his honorable discharge. During his service, he received numerous medals and awards.
After retirement from the Air Force, Chuck served in various Human Resources Director positions in the private sector. He also attained the CSP (Certified Staffing Professional) and TSC (Technical Services Certified) certifications, as well as being an SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources).
Chuck was respected and admired by the many people that he met and helped over the years.
