Esta was first married to William Alfred Hester, whom she married in about 1952. Esta and William had one child, Cynthia Kay Hester, before their divorce. On the 7 December 1956, Esta married Melvin Charles Riggs (1930-1987), the son of Melvin Tillery Riggs (1904-1955) and Evelyn Judith Hallbrook (1913-1998), in Jefferson Co., Texas. Esta and Melvin had two children together, Forest Charles Riggs and Christopher Ray Riggs, before their divorce in 1980. On the 11 January 1986, Esta married for a third and final time, to Howard Payne Oliver in Orange Co., Texas. This marriage, however, ended in divorce on the 31 March 1986 in Orange Co., Texas.
Esta passed away in Vidor, Orange Co., Texas, and was buried Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery. She was survived by her three children.
