Steve Cauthon
October 13, 1951 - April 22, 2021

Steve Cauthon, Marysville, 69, died April 22, 2021 at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE with his daughters at his side.

Steve was born on October 13, 1951, the youngest of three children, in Pittsburg, KS to Marion Charles and Jane (Bybee) Cauthon. He attended school in Raytown and graduated from Raytown South High School in 1970. After high school, he attended Metropolitan Community College in Lee Summit, MO. Steve worked 34 years in restaurant management in the Kansas City Metro area.

Steve had three daughters, Mary Jane, Crystal, and Nicole. In 2003, Steve moved to Concordia to be closer to his daughters and eventually his grandchildren, which proved to be a blessing. Steve enjoyed the study of geological formations and shared these interests in many long conversations with grandchildren, McKenzie, Lukas and Myles. When Genesis was coming to visit, he automatically knew he would be babysitting her baby doll at some point and when he knew that Lukas was coming, he would be sure to have his technical difficulties outlined, so he could put Lukas to work. Thankfully, Steve was able to meet his youngest grandson, King, before his passing. His children and grandchildren were the highlight of his life.

Preceding him in death was his parents; grandparents; daughter, Nicole; sister, Cindy Cauthon; and brother, Robert Cauthon.

Survivors include children, Steven Eric Cauthon, Mary Jane Whiting, Crystal (James) Leis; and grandchildren, McKenzie, Lukas, Myles, Genesis, and King.

A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary, Marysville.
