COLORADO CITY ~~ Claud W. Calaway, 66, of Colorado City died Saturday in Root Memorial Hospital in Colorado City after a long illness. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Kiker-Rains-Seale Chapel. The Rev. Glenn Roenfeldt, pastor of the First Baptist Church will officiate, with burial in the Coahoma Cemetery in Coahoma.
Born October 15, 1906, in Alabama, he moved to Mitchell County in 1910, and married Myrtle Joiner May 18, 1933 in Colorado City. The couple had lived in New Mexico for thirty-three years, having returned to Colorado City in 1972.
Survivors are his wife; two sons, J. W. of Monahans and Claud, Jr. of Waxahachie; two brothers, Clyde of Wimberley and Howard of Cross Plains; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
