Charles Franklin HARDY, Sr. was the son of William "Will" Henry HARDY and Gertrude (TAYLOR) HARDY of Redwood Falls, MN; grandson of Charles Henry HARDY and Myra A. (SCHERMERHORN) HARDY; great-grandson of (Judge) Charles Franklin HARDY and Waite (JOHNSON) HARDY; great-great-grandson of Nahum HARDY and Mary (SMITH) HARDY.

Charles Franklin HARDY, Sr. died in Austin, Minnesota, was buried in Redwood Falls, Minnesota. Later he was disinterred and buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota. This was under the direction of his widow, Mildred L. (DAVIS) HARDY. Mildred met and married a widower, Donald C. MADISON. His wife was buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Austin, MN. Mildred told Terry B. HARDY years ago, that her and Donald wanted to be buried next to their first spouses, but not far from each other. When Donald died in 1982, he was buried next to his 1st wife Bernice who died in 1959. When Mildred died in 1999, she was buried beside Charles. The two couples are about 10'-15' apart, near the flag pole.
