Ms. Cathy Lynn Allman, 70, of Seymour, Indiana, passed away with her family at her side on April 23, 2021 at Schneck Medical Center. Cathy was a beloved sister, aunt and friend to many. She was a devoted caretaker to her dogs, Lilly and Holly. She was a lifelong resident of Seymour, IN.
She was a woman of great faith and a member of Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic. In her younger years, she was highly active in the church volunteering her time as a Sunday School teacher, Children's Christmas Program Director, and helping with the church newspaper. Cathy was also a contributor to her nephew's church, Rock of Hope in Sellersburg, IN. Cathy served for 47 years at the Jackson Circuit Court under 3 judges, Judge Brown, Judge Vance & Judge Poynter at the Jackson County Courthouse in Brownstown. She enjoyed her work and made many dear friends during her years of service at Jackson County Courthouse.
She was born in 1950 to the late Robert Dewey Allman II and Gabriella (Allegretti) Allman in Seymour.
Cathy was the "baby sister" of four. She is survived by her sister, Gayle Skaggs, and brothers, Robert (Bobby) Dewy Allman III (Karen Allman) and Rev. Dennis Wayne Allman(Linda Allman); 7 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and nephews and 5 great-great-nieces and nephews.
Cathy was a fierce believer in the importance of family tradition and proud of her Italian heritage. She loved serving her secret recipe pasta and meatballs and followed in her mother's legacy of Italian cooking. She left her nieces and nephews countless memories and stories that will continue to be shared with all future generations.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Sharon K Allman, brother-in-law Albert Skaggs, grandparents, Dewy and Della Allman and Hank and Gabriella Allegretti; her aunt, Bonnita Wineinger and her cousin Doug Allman.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 from 4-7 pm at Seymour Christ Temple 607 Euclid Ave, Seymour, IN 47274. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Seymour Christ Temple at 7pm. Private family burial will be at Riverview Cemetery.
Memorials may be written to Seymour Christ Temple Apostolic, Red Sky Rescue or Rock of Hope Apostolic in Sellersburg, Indiana.
Masks are required as well as social distancing within the building. Cards and notes of condolence are most welcome. All arrangements have been entrusted to Voss & Sons Funeral Service in Seymour.
