Beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Jane Earickson, passed peacefully in Columbia, Missouri, on April 26, 2021, at the age of 98.
Mary Jane (Kassen) Earickson was born on February 10, 1923, in Norborne, Missouri, to Ben F. Kassen and Agnes (Wegeng) Kassen. She lived in Norborne, Missouri, through her childhood alongside her two brothers, Bernard and John T. "Jack" Kassen. She met her husband, Richard Keith Earickson, and the two married in Norborne, Missouri, on June 24, 1950.
Thereafter, the two had four children. Once her three daughters had grown and had children of their own, she left her longtime home of Carrollton, Missouri, to reside in Columbia, Missouri. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church of Columbia.
She lived the last 23 years of her life watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and loved to talk about each one of them. The excitement of being with her extended family brought her much pride and joy.
Mary Jane Earickson was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Keith Earickson, and son, Richard Keith Earickson, Jr.
She is survived by her children: Mary Jane "Jenny" (Ronald) Swank, Jean Elaine Brazil, and Jo Ann Earickson; grandchildren: Eric (Anne) Swank, Bradley (Sara) Swank, Emily Swank (Dana) Schwartz, Amy Swank (Joseph) Hinton, Kyle (Elizabeth) Wisdom, Mallory Wisdom, and Claire Earickson (Maxwell) Palmer; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held privately. May she rest in peace with God. She will always be in the hearts of her family.
