Alice G. Prince, 101
BOYNTON BEACH, FL Alice G. Prince, age 101 of Boynton Beach, Florida passed away Feb. 28, 2012.
Mrs. Prince was born in Worcester, MA on August 13, 1910 to J. Edgar Howarth and Carrie E.E. Patterson and lived in Worcester for 95 years until her move to Florida in 2006 where she resided with her son and daughter-in-law. She can trace her ancestry to the landing of the Mayflower in 1620. Mrs. Prince was a 57 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Stella Chapter and served as Worthy Matron, Deputy Grand Marshall in 1975 and was the Grand Representative to Connecticut. She worked the City of Worcester election polls from 1956 until 2005 which included 11 presidential elections. Mrs. Prince enjoyed crocheting and belonged to a quilting group for 32 years. She has made a quilt for every member of her immediate family from children to great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Prince was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and served one term as Chaplain. She was a cradle-Episcopalian and belonged to All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester as a child and St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Worcester for 65 years and taught Sunday school for all of those years. She also served on the Altar Guild and was a member of the Women of St. Matthews and belonged to Girls Friendly as did her daughter and granddaughter after her. Once her children were grown, she worked for Denholm & McKay Department Store for 25 years in the lingerie department.
Mrs. Prince was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Reldon D. Prince; her son, Earl Prince and daughter, Carol Grammatic.
