Obituary taken from the Alexandria Daily Town Talk of 23 October 1918:

Deaths

GEIGER -- In Little Rock, Ark., on Tuesday night, October 22, 1918, Mrs. Florence Gourrier Geiger, wife of Dr. Jacob Casson Geiger, aged about 31 years.

Her death was the result of pneumonia, which developed from influenza. She was a native of Plaquemine, La., and a daughter of the late Samuel Gourrier and Mrs. Rosa Gourrier. She was a graduate of the Louisiana State Normal School, and previous to her marriage was a teacher in the schools at Plaquemine and Alexandria. She taught in this city several sessions.

She was married in this city several years ago, to Dr. Geiger, and they later went to California, where they resided for a time. Subsequently they moved to Little Rock, where Dr. Geiger is at the head of the United States Public Health Service.

Besides her husband, she is survived by two young sons. She also leaves her mother, four sisters and one brother, as follows: Mrs. J. C. Selser of Alexandria; Mrs. Frank Truxworth [sic] of Cravens, La.; Mrs. J. E. Daigre of Plaquemine; Mrs. Mattie Zubbier of Shreveport and Mr. Andrew Gourrier of Vivian, La.

The body will arrive here on the Missouri-Pacific train tomorrow morning and the funeral will take place immediately upon arrival of the train. Interment will be made in the Rapides cemetery, under the direction of Mr. James Willaims [sic] of the Kelly Undertaking Company.

Town Talk extends sincere sympathy to the bereaved husband, children and other relatives in the great loss they have sustained.
