Ramona E. Crawford, age 98 formerly of Winnebago, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at the Pillars Assisted Living in Shorewood, Minnesota.

Memorial service details are pending. Burial will take place at Basey Cemetery in rural Winnebago on a later date.

Ramona was born on October 6, 1922 in Winnebago to Frank and Hazel (Brown) Hemingway. She began her education at Basey Country School and continued at Winnebago High School. After high school Ramona attended the Mankato Beauty School and worked as a beautician with her sister Helen in Amboy, Minnesota.

On February 6, 1943, Ramona married Kenneth Crawford in Paris, Texas before Kenneth was shipped to Europe during WWII.

After the war the couple eventually settled in Dekalb, Illinois where they raised their family. During summer many family trips were to the Hemingway farm and to Bemidji for vacation on the lake. At retirement they moved to Barefoot Bay, Florida where they enjoyed the warm winters and often times visited friends and family up North during the summer.

Ramona enjoyed reading, walking, volunteering at the church thrift store and watching golf. She also loved getting together with her sisters and her family whenever possible.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dan Crawford (Bella) of Maple Grove, MN, Rod Crawford and his wife Sharon of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Roberta Foster and Mary Jackson; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Ramona was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Hazel Hemingway; husband Kenneth Crawford; daughter Kathryn Crawford and son-in-law Rob Dick; grandson Jeff Crawford; and five sisters, Kathleen Deedrick, Anita Gilreath, Helen Boesch, Shirley Doolittle and Dorothy Gage.
