JAMES GARFIELD ALDERSON was the son of Aaron Garfield Anderson Sr. and Mrs. Ada (Hamilton) Anderson.

His known siblings were Samuel Alderson and Ira Otis Alderson. His known step-siblings were Mesa T. Alderson, Nancy Erena Alderson, Garland Earl Alderson, Aaron Garfield "A.G." Alderson Jr., Margaretta Alderson and Mary Alderson.

His first wife was Mrs. Evelia Elena (Moore) Alderson. Their known children were Jimmy Lee Alderson, Howard Garfield Alderson, Mary Frances Alderson and Annie May Alderson.

He married again to Mrs. Mattie Edith (Thornton) Alderson.

"Services for James Garfield Alderson, 79, of Ferris, are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday in O.T. Allen & Son Funeral Home chapel, in Alto, Texas, with the Rev. Frank Dill officiating. Burial will be in Old Palestine Cemetery near Alto. Mr. Alderson died after a lengthy illness on Monday while in a Kaufman nursing home. He was born February 9, 1913, in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was a Baptist, and he was a former service station attendant. Survivors include two sons, Howard Alderson, of Dallas, and Jimmy Lee Alderson, of Arkansas; two daughters, Annie May Morgan and Mary Frances Douglas, both of Mabank; a brother, A.G. Alderson, of Fort Worth; two sisters, Mary Fowler, of Axtell, and Margaret Brewery, of Ganado; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren."

Hamilton {Memorial #53303331} and Mrs. Barbara Ann "Annah" (Patterson) Hamilton {Memorial #53303374}. Further, his son, Howard Garfield Alderson, passed away on December 15, 1999 in Dallas, Texas. Additionally, his daughter, Mary Frances, was previously married to Elton M. Hardy, and she resided for many years in Dallas County, Texas. Peggy Sue Hardy, Danny Wayne Hardy, Frances Jo Sappington Hardy and Elton Earl Hardy Sr. were his grandchildren.
