Campbell, Jerry 1/26/1936 - 3/28/2021 Plainwell, MI Richard Gerald (Rodgers) "Jerry" Campbell died of natural causes at age 85 on Sunday morning, March 28, 2021, at home in Plainwell, MI, among his family. For more than 52 years Jerry Campbell was an award-winning staff photographer for The Kalamazoo Gazette. He also appeared as "Jerry the Clown" for more than three decades, was the former Michigan Commissioner for the Clan Campbell Society of North America, former president of the Michigan Press Photographers Association, operated his own Studio 309 for more than 25 years, was a founding member of the Grand and Glorious Galaxy of Clowns, Mid-Michigan Alley 44 and was a former volunteer firefighter. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, their 3 children, 3 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. Please consider donating to Jerry's favorite charities, Saint Jude's Children's Hospital and Humane Society of Huron Valley in Ann Arbor, MI. A ceilidh in his honor will be scheduled at a later date.
