Maria Ana Francisca Josefa Rita Joana of Braganza (in PT: de Bragança), was a Portuguese infanta, daughter of King José I of Portugal and his wife Mariana Victoria de Borbón. She escaped from mainland Portugal to Brazil with her family when Napoleon Bonaparte ordered the invasion of Portugal in 1807. She died in Rio de Janeiro on May 16, 1813, aged 76. She never married or had any children. Her remains were transferred to the Convento do Desagravo do Santíssimo Sacramento (Convent of the Reparation of the Blessed Sacrament), in Lisbon, in front of the National Pantheon. With the death of the last nun residing in the convent, in 1901, it passed to the state and it now houses a kindergarten. Her exact burial place was lost.
