According to Marriages of Pendleton County, Virginia, 1788-1853 revised by Jackie Puffenberger, 1992-1993 page 68. Jacob Wilfong married Regina Varner in 1800, cited in the Morton book. Jacob Wilfong and John Varner signing with an X certified the marriage bonds on May 6, 1800. Adam Warner gave consent of father and Regina Warner on Bond. According to "A History of Pendleton County, West Virginia by Oren F. Morton originally published in 1910 page 392 was listed as a "tithable" member of the county in 1790 meaning he was over 16 years of age. According to "A History of Pendleton County, West Virginia by Oren F. Morton originally published in 1910 page 396-397 lists a Jacob Wilfong on the Pendleton Militia Muster Rolls on Sept. 6,1794. He was in Captain Jacob Hoover's Company.

Jacob sold land on the North River of the North Mountain in 1801 to Roger Dyer. This was land that Jacob received by patent in 1797.
