Maria Afonso (1302-1320) was a Portuguese noblewoman. She was the illegitimate daughter of King Dinis of Portugal and his mistress, Branca Lourenço de Valadares, daughter of Lourenço Soares de Valadares and sister of Aldonça Lourenço de Valadares (mother of Inês de Castro). She was a nun at the Monastery of Odivelas, where she had an altar dedicated to Saint Andrew between 1312 and 1320. She was allegedly murdered at the age of 18, at the Odivelas Monastery. She is buried in the church of the Monastery of Odivelas, on the left side of the main altar, with her father Dinis, king of Portugal, on the right side. The tombs were carved by the same master mason.
