Dorene Floyd Tarter, 88 years of age, departed this life on Thursday, May 6th, 2021 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset, Kentucky.
Dorene was born on July 27th, 1932, daughter of the late Elcus and Rosa Lee Clifton Floyd. She was a kind Christian lady. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, working in her flowers and working in her garden.
Dorene was survived by one daughter, Karen R. Johnson of Nancy, Kentucky; one granddaughter, Angela M. Johnson; and a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elcus Floyd, who departed this life on February 20th, 1980 and Rosa Lee Floyd, who departed this life on March 6th, 1986; her loving husband of 60 years, Logan Tarter, whom she married on February 14th, 1956 and who departed this life on May 14th, 2019; and three sisters, Glenna Tarter, who departed this life on September 6th, 2000, Zinnie Todd, who departed this life on April 18th, 2012, and Geneva Rice, who departed this life on October 31st, 2017.
Visitations were held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 in the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home in Somerset, Kentucky..
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 at the Pulaski Funeral Home.
Burial followed in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Pulaski County, Kentucky.
