Phillip Gordon Tubach was born on January 16, 1909 in Colley, Pennsylvania. He was the son of William Edward Tubach and Stella "Edith" Weaver, and the brother of Leona Regina, Raymond and Earl.
Gordon married Marian Elizabeth Sick in 1931, and they were the parents of five children: Eugenia (Sister Jeanne/Mary Gordon, IHM), Wayne, Paul, Lucille and Mary Frances. After the death of Marian in 1973, he remarried Pauline McGee Hassen. He served in the US Army during WWII.
In 1933, Gordon opened and was a local agent for the Prudential Insuance Company office, and when he was drafted into the military in 1944, his wife Marian took over the business - a job which she kept for 25 years. Gordon also worked for Tubach's Furniture Store and PennDOT, along with being the mayor of Dushore for 32 years.
He died on May 23, 2001 in Laporte, and was buried in St. Basil's Cemtery, Dushore, PA.

Born Phillip Gordon, Jan. 16, 1909, in Colley, he was the son of the late William P. and Edith (Weaver) Tubach. He attended the Colley schools and was valedictorian of the first graduating class, in 1927, of the new St. Basil's High School, Dushore. He worked for Tubach's Furniture Factory, Dushore, and PennDOT, and later worked in Scranton, New Jersey, and California. He was an agent for 37 years for Prudential Insurance Co. in Bradford and Sullivan counties. He was a U.S. Armed Forces veteran of World II (WWII), serving as an army infantryman in Virginia, Maryland and Texas.
He was mayor of Dushore for 32 years, member of the St. Basil's Church, active in its Holy Name Society, charter member of the Dushore Lions Club, life member of the American Legion Post 996, and a founding father of the Dushore Fire Co. and Little League. He served on the Sullivan County Development Committe. He was a member of the Dushore Borouth Council, Centennial Committee and was aon the Boards of the Dushore Water Co. and the First National Bank.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, the former Marian E. Sick; second wife, Pauline (McGee) Hassen; brothers, Raymond and Earl; and sister, Leona Kaminsky.
Surviving are his sons, Wayne, Laporte; and Paul, Glen Allen, VA; daughters, Sister Jeanne, IHM, Cresco; Lucille Christini, Towanda; and Mary Frances Cummiskey, Endicott, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. ..."
