Sherry Lynn (Poland) Adams, was born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 10, 1963 to James Lloyd and Patricia Eleanor (Hill) Poland. Sherry passed away at her home in Fairfax, Missouri on May 5, 2021 at the age of 58.

Sherry spent early childhood in the Savannah, Missouri area and attended schools at Rosendale, Bolckow, Filmore, and Savannah. She graduated from Tarkio High School, Tarkio, Missouri in 1981 and attended one semester at Tarkio College, Tarkio.

Sherry was united in marriage to Mark Adams on January 3, 1981 and they made their home in the Tarkio area until 1984. They lived in North Carolina and Kansas until 1990 when they returned home to Fairfax. Sherry was a mother and homemaker raising their two sons, Bryan and Devin.

Sherry was a member of Fairfax Community Betterment, Fairfax and helped start the Avenue of Flags. She helped with Band Boosters and served as Cubmaster of Pack 73 where she helped several young boys earn the Arrow of Light. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Find a Grave Program.

Always interested in local history, Sherry was a member of the Atchison County Memorial Building Foundation Board of Directors, Rock Port, Missouri where she did extensive research for the Walk of Honor, the memorial wall honoring local veterans who served in the Civil War, World War I and World War II. She enjoyed genealogy, researching her own family as well as other families in the community. Sherry loved photography, gardening, cooking, and spending time with children and pets, saying she always saw them as someone she needed to care for.

Sherry was preceded in death by mother, Patricia Poland. Survivors include husband, Mark Adams, Fairfax; sons, Bryan (Tisha) Adams, Kansas City, Missouri and Devin Adams, Fairfax; step son, Jeff Buhrman, Castle Rock, Colorado; grandchildren, Cole Adams and Elizabeth Buhrman; father, James Poland, Savannah; siblings, Terry Smith, Rock Port and Jimmy Poland; good friend, Doris Ann Stanton, Tarkio; and many other dear friends.

Graveside Memorial Service and Inurnment: 2:00 P.M., Sunday, May 9, 2021, English Grove Cemetery, Fairfax.

Open visitation begins 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 8, 2021, Davis Funeral Home, Tarkio where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:00 P.M.
