She was married to George Hess in 1910 and the family resided in the Cuppy's Grove vicinity until they moved to Harlan, 16 years ago.
She is survived by her husband, George, one daughter, Mrs Thelma (Carroll) Poe, three brothers Andrew, Chris and George Christiansen, two sisters, Mrs George Paulsen and Mrs Robert Wilburn and three grandchildren, Gary, Grant and Brian Poe. Her parents and and infant son preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held at the Pauley Funeral Home Wednesday, January 6, with the Rev. Lyle Paulsen in charge. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. Pallbearers were Roy H. Christiansen, Adolph Schuack, Jay C. Colburn, Howard Schneider, Nel Carmeichael and H.C. Nielsen. Singers were Nick White, Al Fabian, Walter Christiansen and Thomas Hansen. Organist was Alice Knudsen.
