Frances Abaly Dies at Age 72

Frances M. Abaly, 72, of 292 W. Gorham St., a daughter of the late Mrs. and Mrs. John Abaly, pioneer Madison residents, died today in a Madison hospital after a long illness. Miss Abaly was born in Madison May 14, 1880.

Her body is at the Fitch-Lawrence Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited Sunday night at 8.

Miss Abaly was secretary and nurse for many years for her uncle, the late Dr. W. C. Abaly, eye, ear, nose and throat specialist.

She attended the old St. Regina Academy, formerly located where the Jackson Clinic is now, and St. Raphael's Grade School, and subsequently graduated from Madison High School and the University of Wisconsin.

She is survived by four sisters, Ollie Abaly and Mrs. W. J. Hobbins, both of Madison, and Mrs. Elizabeth Mayer and Winifred Abaly, both of Milwaukee, and one brother, Donald, also of Milwaukee.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9 in the Fitch-Lawrence Funeral Home, and at 9:30 in St. Raphael's Catholic Cathedral. Msgr. Edward Kinney will officiate. The family requests flowers be omitted.
