Dearest husband of Dr. Marilyn G.S. Watt. Beloved father of Rev. Dr.Jonathan and David Watt. Grandfather of Nathan, Johanna, Benjamin, Zacharias, Justin and Alexis. Great-grandfather of five children. Brother of the late Ronald Watt.
He married my husband and I, having met Trevor as a wide-eyed student at Canisius College. We became fast friends with him and fellow professor Marilyn. There was an empty space in my heart for so long, that over the years, filled with hope and faith because of their love for each other and of my husband and me.
Rev. Dr. Watt was professor of Theology and Religious Studies at Canisius College from 1968-2009. His spirited ability to uplift students and collegues with his encouraging advice and thoughtfulness, made his classes the first to be filled in the department. He staged more than 50 scholarly presentations during his tenure with special emphasis on the pastoral aspects of psychology and theology. Rev. Dr. Watt was a Diplomate in the American Assn. of Pastoral Counselors and was awarded it's Northeastern Region's Distinguished Contribution Award. He hosted the local TV program "In Process" about religious issues for 15 years. He co-founded and was the first board chair of Life Transitions Center, which grew to become the counseling division of Hospice Buffalo.
My apologies for any missing information as death occurred at height of Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns. Further details may be forthcoming. Funeral arrangements by Dietrich FH, Amherst, NY. Cremains with his family, although burial maker next to wife Marilyn in Acacia Park Cemetery.
