Mr. Godfrey became ill about three weeks ago while located at Kenney, where he was associated with a partner, J. L. McKennan. Mrs. Dack was notified of his condition and had him brought to Galva immediately where he could receive treatment. He passed away about 11 o'clock Tuesday evening.
Joe F. Godfrey was born November 9, 1863, at Toulon, the son of Henry and Susan Godfrey. He grew to young manhood at that place, taking up railroad work, at which he served as brakeman on a Rock Island passenger train through Galva for a number of years.
