A memorial has been established with the Parkinson's Association of Greater Kansas City. Contributions may be made through Zimmerman Funeral Home of Howard.
Harrington was born May 29, 1933, in Independence, Missouri, to Doris Corrine (Clough) and William Floyd Harrington. He began school in Kansas City, Kansas, where he lived with his family until the moved to a farm west of Elk Falls in 1945.
After graduating from Elk Falls High School, he moved to Wichita where he worked for Master Corporation until entering the U.S. Army in 1953. He was honorably discharged on 1955 and began working for Bee's Aero Spraying in Plains.
While living in Plains, he met Virginia Hariett Downs. They married November 3, 1956 in Plains.
They made their home in Wichita where he worked for Boeing Aircraft Company until moving to Moline in October 1959. He was employed by the Kansas Department of Transportation from 1960 until his retirement in 1977.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Harrington, Moline; a son, Floyd Harrington, Beaverton, Oregon; a daughter, Harriet Horner, Elk Falls; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
