HEADLEY RIGHTS YESTERDAY

Funeral services for George Headley, 80, of Chetopa formerly of rural Columbus, were held from (sic) the Melrose Methodist church, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Fred Hanley of Parsons officiated. He was assisted by Rev. W. P. Elkins of Melrose. Burial was in the Fairview cemetery, east of Chetopa, under the direction of the Frity Funeral home.

Mr. Headley passed away Monday morning at 6:38 o'clock at his home in Chetopa, following a lingering illness.

Besides his wife of the home, he is survived by three sons; Frank, Chetopa, George, Wichita, and Paul, Parsons; three daughters, Mrs. Nora Mock and Mrs. Mary Alley, both of rural Columbus; and Mrs. Maude Huddelson, Chetopa; three brothers, Perry, of rural Chetopa, James, of Kansas City and Herman, Burlington, Ia.; four sisters: Mrs. Sadie Gribbens, Columbus, Mrs. Alice Koch, Melrose, Mrs Bessie Nau, Burlington, Iowa and Mrs. Arthur Evans of rural Chetopa; eighteen grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
