Dyer died at 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, at Methodist Hospital in Lubbock.
Dyer was born in Snyder and moved to Brownfield in 1948. He married Carol Harper Sept 8, 1955. He was a ginner for 31 years before purchasing By-Lo Wrecking.
Survivors include his wife; 2 sons: Danny Ray and Gaylon Shelby, both of Brownfield; a daughter: Mrs. Darwin (Debbra Gail) Sizemore of Brownfield; 3 brothers: Roy Allen of North Carolina, James of Brownfield and Charles Ray of Sundown; 3 sisters: Mrs. Foy (Lena Mae) Gunter, Mrs. Joyce Robertson and Mrs. Frances Hansard, all of Brownfield; and 6 grandchildren.
