Local Businessman Dies Thursday Of Heart Attack
Funeral services for William Davis Sandifer, 61, of 401 Prospect St., operator of a Shreveport business service company, and active religious layman, who died in a local hospital at 2:45 p.m. Thursday following an unexpected heart attack, will he held at 4 p.m. Friday in Osborn Funeral Home. Dr. J. W. Middleton, pastor of the First Baptist Church will conduct the rites. Interment will be in Forest Park Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be J. M. Smith, A. L. Wedgeworth, Benton L. Kelly, L. L. Lockard, J. C. Fontaine, J. W. Sandifer Jr., S. Berton Heard and T. E. Wimberly. Honorary pallbearers will he the board of deacons of the First Baptist Church, the Triple Triangle Bible Class, Dr. M. E. Kaffie, Dr. Keith Mason. Drs, P. M. Oxford, C. R. Reed, M. D. Hargrove, William Hall and W. M.

Resident Here 40 Years.
Mr. Sandifer was a native of Louisiana and had lien a resident here for more than 40 years. He was head of the Sandifer Business Service, a firm that provided general business services for other local firms. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and served as a deacon in the church. For more than 25 years, Mr. Sandifer was teacher of the church's Triple Triangle Sunday School class. He was also on the hoard of directors of the Homer Memorial Hospital of Homer. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Dell Batchelor Sandifer of Shreveport; three sons, W. D. Jr., and Dale S. Sandifer, both of Shreveport, and Dan P. Sandifer of New Orleans; three grandchildren; two brothers. J. W. Sandifer of Shreveport and R. B. Sandifer of San Antonio, Tex.; two sisters, Mrs. G. B. Heard of Shreveport, and Mrs. J. E. Pierce, of Pelahatchie, Miss.
