LEE James Herschell Lee, 83, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2002. Mr. Lee was a native of Four Oaks, NC, but had resided in Jacksonville since 1940. He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of WW II. He later retired from NAS Jax as administrator of the public works department having served 32 years in civil service. Mr. Lee was No. 6 of 12 charter members who established the Jax Navy Federal Credit Union. He later served on the Board of Directors and in many other offices with the Credit Union. He was a member of the Riverside Masonic Lodge, the Scottish Rite and the Morocco Temple. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Rosa Lee Lee; daughter, Sandra Lamoureux (El); brother, Charles Lee (Catherine) of Manassas, VA; sister, Sadie Kennedy of Richmond, VA; three grandsons, Kevin (Cathy), Bryan (Renee) and Stephen (Bethany) Lamoureux; five great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. Mr. Lee was a member of the Marietta Church of Christ. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 4, 2002, at 11:00 am, in the chapel of TOWN & COUNTRY FUNERAL HOME. Jamie Rhoden and Rev. Curtis Ganey will officiate. Elijah Rhoden, Tim Rhoden, Steve Rhoden, Josh Nipper, Gary Barber and Devin Barber will serve as pallbearers and interment will follow in Riverside Memorial Park. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Crippled Childrens Fund.
