David was a graduate of Granville High School and attended auto body school in Pennsylvania. David achieved Eagle Scout status as a youth and worked as a machinist at Sandy Hill in Hudson Falls. David was a long time member of the Granville Rescue Squad. He designed and built the current EMS building. David had a passion of collecting comic books in which he has over 22,000 books in his collection. He loved to hunt, fish, and line-dance with his wife of 48 years, Delores. David was known for his keen sense of humor and showed it in many ways. If David picked on you it meant he thought highly of you. He was always quick to help anyone in need. David would do anything for anyone without complaint and never asked for anything in return.
David is survived by his wife, Delores (Jurnak) Bogart; daughter, Penny Periard (Jack) of Kentucky, and their children, Mallory Tokarski (Adam) of Pennsylvania, Brendon Periard of West Virginia, Avery and Abby Periard of Kentucky; daughter, Audrey Archambault-Hogan, New York and children, Michael and Ashley Archambault of New York, and Benjamin Hogan of New York; daughter, Tammy Duncan (Jim) and their two sons Jimmy and Hunter of Kentucky. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Missy but, predeceased by his beloved cat, Baby.
David was predeceased by his father, the late Raymond Bogart and is survived by his mother Irene (Hayes) Bogart-Granville, and brother, Norman Bogart and (Vicki); and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, he is survived by his best friend and uncle, Phillip Hayes (Lynn) of Vermont.
Friends may call from 12 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Robert M. King Funeral Home, 23 Church St. in Granville with the funeral service at 3 p.m. David will be laid to rest at Mettowee Valley Cemetery.
