Portsmouth - Charles Lamont Rush, 24, of the 200 block of Chowan Drive went home to be with his Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 31, 2007. He is deeply loved by his family and was affectionately called "Deep C" by his friends. He was born on November 9, 1982 in Portsmouth, Virginia. He was named after both of his grandfathers (Charles Rush and Charles Franklin). Mr. Rush was a former member of the United Full Gospel Revival Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. He recently rededicated his life back to the Lord. He graduated from Deep Creek High School and attended Aviation Institute of Maintenance in Virginia where he received his Bachelors in Aviation Science. He was also a U.S. Air Force Disabled Gulf War Veteran. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Charles Rush and a step-grandfather, Lawrence Litton. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Meta D. Rush-Brown, his step-dad, Kenneth W. Brown, Sr., his father, Guy Franklin; sisters, Raena D. Rush of Portsmouth and Michele-la Hamlin of Norfolk; brothers, Darius D. Rush and Lloyd J. Harris; two grandmothers, Jessie Mae Rush and Ruby Mincey (Danny); grandfather, Charles Franklin; nieces and nephews, Reshaun, Bre'Aunna, Ty'Aunna, Chashaun and Sejaida; a beloved fiancé, Shauntrell Saunders; and many, many aunts, cousins, and friends. Viewing will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00pm at J. T. Fisher Funeral Services, 1080 N. George Washington Hwy., Chesapeake. A life celebration service will be held on Wednesday, November 7, 2007 at 12:00 noon at Solid Rock Baptist Church, 1340 Gust Lane, Chesapeake. He will be laid to rest in Olive Branch Cemetery in Portsmouth. Final care arrangements have been entrusted to J. T. Fisher Funeral Services.
