Lena Elizabeth Mautz Kimsey Locke was born in Shelby Co, IL on May 20, 1877 to Lewis Mautz and Johanna Elizabeth Aichele Mautz. She came with her parents to Kansas in the early 1880's and lived on a farm 2 1/2 miles north of Winfield. Lena married William Martin Kimsey on December 24, 1900 in Rock, KS. To this union were born three children; Clara Elizabeth Kimsey Ford Haylor, Faye Marie Kimsey Fabyan, and Lewis William Kimsey. She was widowed on February 22, 1907. On Nov. 1, 1909, she married George W. Locke. Lena died on July 23, 1911. She was survived by her children and husband as well as her mother, three brothers and one sister.
