Betty May Englert Doan was called home by her Lord and Savior. She passed away Monday, May 17, 2021 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. Visitation will be from 10-11:30am on Monday, May 24, 2021 at Grace Community Church (Southside Nazarene), 1629 King St., Tilton, IL. Service will follow at 11:30am at Grace Community Church, with burial at Oak Hill Cemetery.

Betty was born July 2, 1943 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville. She was the second daughter of Harry & Virginia Juvinall Englert Nungester. She was united in marriage to Clarence (Frank) Doan, April 10, 1978, passed away in 2004. They celebrated 26 years together. Betty went to Oaklawn Grade School & Danville High School. She went to DACC and got her C.N.A., worked at Home Health Care. She also worked at Bohns and Heatcraft. Betty loved spending time at auctions & flea markets. Betty loved family history and was a member of the Illiana Historical Society since 1990. At one time, she was cemetery coordinator and vice president at I.G.H.S She loved collecting glass and antiques, and loved her yard & flowers.

Betty is survived by her children: Sherry Carter, Terry (Sadie) Doan, Teresa (Guy) Cadle, James "Jay" Tomlinson; Grandchildren: Amanda Clark, Jerry Fugate, Ashley Carter, Jessica Kinniard, Terry Jr., Ryan, and Brett Doan, Alishia and Kevin DeBord, Kayla Lohorn, Lynzie Corzine, Austin and Nicholas Cadle, Brody, Garrett, and Seth Tomlinson; Great-Grandchildren: Weston Carter, Harper Fugate, Brian, Kenley, Gabriel, Xavier, and Nevaeh Doan, Devin and Deloni Hightower, and Michael Lohorn; sisters: Nancy Melecosky, Susan (Ken) Curtis; brothers, Mark Hamm.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank, step-father Bill Nungester; grandchild: Devyn Fugate, Tiffany Carter; great grandchild: J'Dah Burnett; sisters: Sally Powell, and Mary Anderson, brothers: Harry "Butch" Englert and Robert Gene Englert.
