On May 10, 2021, God called Pearl H. Gholson home. Although she fought a very hard fight and struggled to breathe at times, she took her last breath peacefully on this earth early Monday morning.
Pearl was born in Ranlo, NC September 7, 1939, to the late Garland and Lorene Hogsed.
In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, David G. Gholson Sr., sister and brother-in-law, Garldean and Loyd Hudson, brothers-in-law, Clyde Trotter, Earl, and Bill Gholson, and Gary Tucker, sisters-in-law, Carolyn Moeller and Pat Price.
Left to cherish her beautiful memory are her children, Linda and Paul Apperson of Rock Hill, Deb and Jerry Clubb of Cramerton, Patti and Eddie Cubberley of Belmont, and David and Cindi Gholson of Belmont; grandchildren, Kris Gholson, Jessica Adamson (Brian), Megan McVay (John), Jason Clubb, Tara Clubb, Tony Williams (Jennifer), Jennifer Martin (Gary Jr.), James David Gholson (Trish), Brandon Gray Gholson; 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter; sister, Joann Trotter, brothers and sisters-in-law, Rondal and Connie Hogsed, Eddie and Ruby Gholson, Charlie and Wanda Gholson, sisters-in-law, June Tucker and Gloria Gholson; aunt, Gail Eppley with whom she had a sisterly relationship; numerous nieces nephews, cousins and loved ones who will miss her tremendously.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:45 pm, Friday, May 14 at McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont. A graveside service will follow, 2:00 pm, Evergreen, "A Quiet Place," Belmont, with the Rev. David Livingston officiating. McLean Funeral Directors of Belmont is serving the Gholson family.
