Anabelle (Angie) Savage

(8/12/1940 - 4/14/2021) Born to parents Ralph and Marie Stoddard in National City, San Diego, California. She had two brothers, Robert and Paul Stoddard who preceded her in death. She recalled her father being the most influential person in her life.

She recalled her fondest memories as a child being her dog Dixie, a black cocker spaniel, jump rope was her favorite game, and going to the beach and swimming a lot and attended the High School games with her best friend. She was also a high school baton twirler.

Anabelle married Valentine N. Savage on August 15, 1958, at the age of 18. At age 19, Anabelle and Valentine moved into their first home a year after getting married. They had three children, her daughter was born in 1959, and sons Andre, born 1961, and Parish born 1964. The children recalled outings as a family that included camping, boating, drive-in movies, and family trips.

Anabelle and Valentine were very hard workers. They moved to Nevada in 1970, as they had the opportunity to purchase Executone of Northern NV. In 1972 they took over Comstock Answering Service out of Carson City, NV. They bought a home in 1973/74 in Washoe Valley where they lived until her husband's diagnosis of cancer in 1977, subsequently passing in December 1983. During those years they were able to travel on cruises and take adventurous road trips in their motorhome.

In 1985 she became a Bankruptcy Trustee and worked up until 2015. She said it was an exciting and interesting job, it dealt with accounting, real estate, management and contracting, which as business owner she had experience in. She oversaw Chapter 7's, 11's, 12's and 13's. She enjoyed the investigative part of her job, working with the US Courts and Department of Justice Trustee, and stated that "she never knew what was coming through the door". She was one of two people who did this type of job in the state.

Anabelle spent her retirement years filling her time with reading, working in her yard and garden and was involved with a local women's group.

Anabelle was a lovely, articulate, strong woman who had to deal with a lot in her lifetime and came through it all raising three children to be happy, productive members of their community. She briefly battled and lost her life to cancer. She will be missed but will be remembered especially by those she has touched throughout her life, including her 3 children, 6 Grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and her dog Tinker. No services are scheduled. Instead of cards and flowers Anabelle asked that donations be made to the Nevada Humane Society.
