Karen Dynette Davis

Karen Dynette Davis was born on September 7th, 1965, in Fort Pierce, Florida, to parents, Margaret Davis Bennet and the late Tommy Poindexter. Karen graduated from Westwood High School with the class of 1983.

As a youth, Karen attended Mount Pleasant Primitive Baptist Church where she was Baptized and sang in the Youth Choir. Upon graduating from high school, she attended Bethune Cookman College. She worked an assortment of jobs to include working for the Fort Pierce Chronicle, and also as a Nurses Aide. In her leisure time, Karen enjoyed listening to music, art and spending time with family.

On May 6, 2021, Karen's residence on earth ended and she was awarded eternal rest. Karen is preceded in death by her father, Tommy Poindexter, and siblings Alton M. Poindexter and Bruce Tyrone Poindexter.

Left to cherish her memories include her son, Shaka Lee, granddaughter, Layla Lee of Hinesville, Georgia; mother, Margaret Bennett of Ft. Pierce, FL; brothers and sisters, Tyrus (Susan) Davis of Land O Lakes, FL; Joyce (Enrique) Gayden of Wesley Chapel, FL; Ayanna Davis of Orlando, FL; Mary Poindexter of West Palm Beach, FL; Tommy Poindexter of West Palm Beach FL, Antonio (Virgina) Poindexter of West Palm Beach, FL; Masterson Poindexter of West Palm Beach, FL; Michael Poindexter of West Palm Beach, FL; Xylona Poindexter of West Palm Beach, FL; uncle, Levoid Davis of Tampa, FL; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.

A public viewing for Karen Davis will take place on Friday, May 14, 2021, between the hours of 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL. Funeral services to celebrate her life will convene on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at Stone Brothers Funeral Home in Fort Pierce, FL beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
