Garnet Student Dies of Blood Infection

A blood stream infection caused the death Wednesday morning in a Charleston hospital of Charles Henry Miller, 17-year-old Garnet high school student.

Miller, a resident of 501 Bradford street, was admitted to the hospital early Wednesday and died a few hours later. He became ill Tuesday at his home.

The student was a member of the mid-year graduating class at Garnet high. He was a member of the football squad and was active in other school activities.

Surviving are his mother and step-father, Mr. and Mrs. James Page; his father, Frank Miller, Sr.; one brother, Frank Miller, Jr.; his grandmother, Mrs. Rosa Parker; five aunts and three uncles.

The body was removed to the Harden and Harden mortuary.
